Hi, Heimo,
Fortunately, all the email maintenance options still work at this old
dinosaur of an ISP. Yes, it's a shell account, but I know how to access
its PPP option with Net-Tamer. All the email options work, not just the
get new and delete old, but also the get all and delete old. If there is
a bug in it it is that if you used the shell to "cherrypick" your way
through a huge stack and left a read message in the middle of a group
still flagged as "new" and unread by the server, you would lose everything
in the stack before that read message, whether it was flagged as having
been read or not, if you select the delete old mail option. I think all
the current options should stay in, and there should be a note placed
prominently in some documentation file to do a test run on your ISP to see
which settings work and in which way so you don't inadvertently loose a
large quantity of messages from the server before you have looked at them.
