Concept: In this workshop we will work in both the sculpture and digital
studios to explore interactive and kinetic sculptural art. Students will
draw from the environment, combining organic and manmade materials with
natural forces and physical computing, to create sculptures that move and
interact with the viewer. This class will expand your conceptual and
technical vocabulary as you learn how to think about and incorporate natural
materials in your designs as well as sensors, motors, microcontrollers and
other forms of input and output.
To apply: Send resume, examples of work, and a brief statement that answers
the following questions: What is your current work about? Why do you want to
take this course and how do you see it effecting your development as an
artist? You may apply by mail or e-mail. Applications must be received by
April 22.
