MOBILE PHONE EXHIBITON NOW TOURING COUNTRY SA

The Portable Worlds exhibition of mobile phone art will tour major SA regional
centres throughout 2007 as part of Country Arts SA's visual arts touring
program.

Works by some of Australia's best-known media artists will be on display,
reflecting on the changing shape of communication and community. Utilising the
mobile phone as a creation tool and a personalised viewing space, these works
explore miniatures and reflect on movement through Australian spaces.

The program will also present a two-day workshop for 13-19 year olds in each
location to develop skills in making artworks for mobile phones. Works created
by youth in these workshops will also form part of the exhibition.

The tour kicks off in Mt. Gambier at the Riddoch Art Gallery, 6pm, April 13th,
with an introduction by Sasha Grbich, program producer and media artist.

Artworks are available for viewing on the Portable Worlds website:
