Although the information points at a reality foreseeable from the very beginning of the internet "free" access outburst - the possibility to efficiently control the net through its infrastructural components - I see a loophole in the dark Cuban scenario, mentioned in the sentence bellow. Any idea how those "cards" can be purchased and what typew of birocratic control does that imply?
> E-net, the Internet service of the Cuban telephone > company Etecsa > > E-net customers who do not have the dollar phone > service can keep accessing the Internet with the > ordinary phone service with special cards sold at > Etecsa offices, the letter says. # distributed via <nettime>: no commercial use without permission # <nettime> is a moderated mailing list for net criticism, # collaborative text filtering and cultural politics of the nets # more info: [EMAIL PROTECTED] and "info nettime-l" in the msg body # archive: http://www.nettime.org contact: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
