I have a little printout on my wall which has been
there since Mr Clinton won his first term in 1992.
I keep it there for a periodic reality check.
It reads:

US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION 1992
Voted - 54%
Abstained - 46%
Of the 54% who voted,
CLINTON received 43%
BUSH received 38%
PEROT received 19%
So not only did Clinton fail to get a majority
of the votes cast, but approximately 75%
of the elctorate either abstained or voted
for somebody else.
