Hola Aloha,

A fascinating - excusez le mot - item in our favourite 'the devil is in the
detail' department is the pronouncement by Trump about all current inhabitants
of Gaza to be 'cleared out'. 'How many people?' he was asked. His casual reply
was '1,7 1,8 million'. This prompted a few commentators to wonder "how did he
know?". Even more hallucinatory Trumpian statements on Gaza have eclipsed this
very relevant question in the meanwhile. Yet by semi-official count the Gaza
strip had 2,2 to 2,3 milion inhabitants before the fatidic 7 October 2023.
According to the Gaza health authorities, close to 50.000 people have since
perished in the violence pepetrated by Israel's armed forces, with a further
minimum of 10.000 presumably burried under the ruins. Experts however, have
estimated a far larger number of deaths directly imputable to the war, in terms
of otherwise avoidable illnesses, lack of care for the sicks, invalids and
wounded, besides hunger and hypothermia. This results in appraisals ran
ging from a couple to five or six hunderd thousands of additional victims. Yet
these are indenpendent, unofficial projections. So does Trump knows what we
don't?

If people in Gza end up moved out into Egypt and Jordan - with the West Bank
Palestinians following suit, as is the dearest wish of the extreme right
mainstream in Israel, as well as most likely an item in Trump's not-so-hidden
agenda, West Asia is ripe for explosion. But Trump couldn't care less. We
really have a problem here. A problem of the sort 'that if you have a solution
for the problem, it means you're not understanding the problem'.

Cheers to all, and keep your seat belt fastened!
p+2D!
