My name is Brad Bode and I am the CTO of a Satellite Communications company. I am reaching out because I have a need for UDT to be implemented in Netty. I see that the older versions of Netty have UDT implementations, but it will no longer be supported in 4.1. I also see that there is a good reason.
What I would like to do is commission someone to implement a new version of UDT within Netty. This code could then be returned back to the Netty open source community despite us paying for it. We want to both contribute to open source and accelerate the development of this feature. Would you or someone else you know be interested in this work? There already exists a native java implementation <https://github.com/JohannesBuchner/udt-java>that could be leveraged. Though it being native might mean it would be slower. Thank you.
