All of us educated are very capable of bias. many of our text books dont have
pictures of children who have dark complexion ..though..many indians have
dark complexion.. this is a very subtle way bias is worked out..and spread..a
dark child automatically thinks that dark is not worth it and thats why we dont
have a cream "dark and lovely" -- though many are , as we have a subconscious
racist feeling that fair is better somewhere and leads to so many issues of
marriage and dowry

these days people more conscious towards a society which is more equal - give a
real depiction of reality - when writing text books - you can see this in many
u.s text books and advertisements - united colors of benetton is an ad that
come to mind

and so should be the case with free software when representing people in text
books, not with a singular identity of religion but one which transcends and is
real and plural..

otherwise it could be perceived ignorance or hegemony and am sure free software
folks are also folks for a free society
