Subject: [Fsf-friends] Petition to Cancel Proprietary Tender by NIC
To: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>

Swecha appeals to the community, organizations and individuals to sign the following petition to cancel the proprietary tender issued by the NIC for procuring laptops for the Supreme Court of India.

Organizations can add their name in the wiki <http://www.swecha.org/wiki/index.php?title=Petition> page provided and individuals can sign the petition <http://www.swecha.org/node/23#form>. All the respective organizations are requested to host the petition and gather the signatures of members associated with them. Swecha would gladly provide the space for petitions of the respective organizations.

dear Narendra

can you draft a letter from FOSSCOMM as well. If you put on the wiki (which Nagarjuna has done a very useful classification on) we can send off after 48 hours of peer review etc

i know i keep on this 'lets send a letter' mode, but in many cases, doing so alerts the authority that their move is not acceptable to some groups and there are good grounds for such opposition. Even if it does not work in the specific case, it would put them on guard the next time.

thanks
guru
