Vivek, We as FSMK are a working Group of people advocating Free Software as movement in Karnataka. The recent Floods have been recorded to be most devastating ones in the history of human kind. almost three disctricts have been vandailised in KARNATAKA. We decided to raise to the situation and react and do a bit of our contribution. We mostly working on FOSS have friends all around India through FOSS. and many of them are there in FOSSComm list too.
Definately the mail from vikram missed OT tag, but that does mean we cant circulate something which is of national importance. We havent raised a political action point or long standing SOCIO-CULTURAL-ECONOMIC-problems of this nation. Forget about FOSSCOMM but for any mailing list for that matter. We never compelled any one to contribute through US. Its good to hear that you MIGHT send some funds for flood victims. You can do the same through any organisation. This is a situation of crisis and we want every one to raise to it. We are doing our part.
