Some of the suggestions we have made on the draft open standards policy may be accepted by the government. The next step would be determining the standards on the basis of the policy. This is a complex process that will require both legal and technical skills in a very wide variety of domains (fonts, GIS, networking, document formats... you get the idea). It seems to me that this challenge is ideal for the open, collaborative, participative model of open source :-) Venky
