I agree with the concerns raised by some members on the UID project. I think
beyond the concerns of FOSS the UID project itself is of doubtful
effectiveness. It is being touted as a system which would put an end to
corruption and the problems of distriibution of welfare, but the agrugment
are not convincing. The UID does not offer any foolproof system through
which the government welfare money will not be siphined out by force at the
last point - I think the problem is not one of inefficiency but one of
unequal social relations. The concerns over privacy also remain.

We should be cautious in lending support to the UID.
