You really think printed media has a future (or present, come to think of it). The one newspaper that comes to my place, is because my mom reads some of it. With 24/7 realtime coverage on the net, imo print (and other hard copy) is going the way of lp records. As recently as 2002, we had 6 to 8 weekly/monthly mags and 3 news papers. Even tv is really there more out of habit than due to entertainment or news needs. The ability to drill down to facts on the net is what makes the print media so jaded. The recent oil spill: Watch BBC (full of piety for BP) Watch CNN (Shrill) Jump to Huffington Post on the net. A toxicologist gives you the low down on "cleanup" Jump to youtube to get more video and google to drill down into the toxicologists spiel. With linux everything is happening on the net anyway. Usage, development, trends, hardware. All of this free and available with an innate ability to unfold into detail as per my convenience and needs. I for one have said godbye to print and tv. -- Rgds JTD _______________________________________________ network mailing list [email protected] http://lists.fosscom.in/listinfo.cgi/network-fosscom.in
