Dear Friends

EPUB is a very important open standard developed by the International
Digital Publishers Froum and is being widely accepted in the digital
publishing industry.

The standard revision process is going on and a subgroup is working on
the Enhanced Global Language Support.

The concern is that there is no Indian Language representation and
contribution at this stage. Needless to say that this is of huge
importance as digital books in coming years are going to adhere to
this standard and we do not want to have Indian languages struggling
to the rendered correctly on devices supporting EPUB.

The contributions regarding Indian Languges concerns are invited. The
User requirements gathering process deadline is fast approaching. We
were not there at the F2F meeting for this purpose. Thus we need to
take some urgent steps to identify some Indian Language digital
content experts who could contribute at this stage.
