Aren't these lists moderated? List members are not unknown to spam us. It's sometimes crap like this, but mostly well-meaning stuff that begins, "I know this is completely OT, but the matter is (a) so interesting or (b) of such vital interest to the continued well-being of mankind that I feel compelled to share....", at which point we delete it. Well, the occasional "hi-I'm-sylvie-and-I-feel-so-lonely" gets away, but that's usually at 1am, when the moderator is well lubricated and seeing double.
