I want a big list covering everything useful. So crowd sourcing would be better. Strangely there is no single site for the info. We should have one. I know most books for : GNU/R, TeX, LaTeX, gimp, gcc, bash, scheme, all fsf books, FORTRAN, kernel, prolog, HOL, etc But these (some choice is involved): Free s/w tool kits: qt, gtk, Guile,... Programming languages on *nix environment: ruby, python, etc compilers, Xorg, New ones for device drivers, CMS, kernel programming, libre office development, system admin Wayland etc There are a few free ones on free s/w engg, development models too.
