Dear All

Few Bangalore NGOs are protesting against the proposed amendment to the right to information (RTI) Act to exclude political parties from its ambit. You would have heard about country wide protests in this regard.

The protest will be in the form of a sit in in front of the Town hall (Bangalore) on Independence day, between 1030 and 1 PM.

Please see http://www.itforchange.net/Protest_against_the_Amendments_to_the_RTI_Act  for more information.

You would agree that non transparent working of and corruption in political parties is where the root of much of governmental corruption lies. And application of the RTI act to political parties is an important tool for reform of our political parties.

Please do let us know if anyone/ any group will like to participate in the sit in.

regards
Guru
