For info.
While he is known as one of the main authors of the 'right to education bill', Vinod was a keen supporter of free software... and worked to help MHRD understand the Kerala IT@Schools programme in which free software was a critical component... his loss is a terrible blow ...

Friends,
While we still find it difficult to comprehend, our friend, colleague and teacher, Vinod Raina, is no more with us. We would like to believe however, that while he is not physically with us, his work and his dreams continue to guide us. All of us have memories of memorable moments spent with Vinod Raina, and we would like to share them with others so as to draw inspiration and courage to continue on the path that we walked on together with him. We would like to remember his ever smiling face, the encouragement he provided all of us to strive on, and of course his wide ranging capabilities that led him to accept challenges and to continue to struggle against all odds. In association with Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, we are organizing a memorial meeting. The meeting is dedicated to the memory of a person of rare qualities -- an academician, a social activist, an educationist, and much more.
