Hi All

A global civil society coalition on net neutrality has been formed. Please see http://thisisnetneutrality.org/

It has been felt that for too long the key issue of net neutrality is caught in sterile definitional debates, and it is time to make the message clear as well as simple and take it across the world as a movement.

After much discussions, the definition that has been arrived at is as follows. We have tried to be technically correct while also keeping it simple so that it can be taken to non technical civil society groups.

"Net neutrality requires that the Internet be maintained as an open platform, on which network providers treat all content, applications and services equally, without discrimination."

This is to invite groups to join this coalition and work together to keep the Internet an open and egalitarian space that it was always supposed to be.

We will also like to translate this definition in major Indian languages, and volunteers for this task are welcome. Meanwhile, we have arrived at the following tentative Hindi translation.

Best
