Hi,

If you're using Quagga, but don't monitor the Quagga user list too closely, there's an 0.98.6 Release Candidate available, to address several security issues (RIPv1 authentication bypass / potential bgpd DoS via the telnet interface) - additional testing would be very much appreciated. See:

http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/paulj?entry=quagga_0_98_6_release

for more information.

There will also be a release of 0.99, the unstable branch - the latest CVS snapshot of 0.99 also having the above fixes.

While nominally still "unstable", 0.99 may be a better choice for some Solaris 8+ users as Solaris support is much improved over 0.98. 0.99 bgpd and ospfd are being used in production with some success, ripd however still has a known regression with respect to metrics set on redistributed routes which may affect some users.

regards,
