I think most open source web and application servers, including Sun
products, are very likely to adopt new APIs if they improve performance.

No. But Folks are talking about implementing them in Solaris and Linux.
BTW these extensions are a standard so it's not like we will be
implementing any proprietary interfaces.

It would be nice if we could play the performance card without having
it trumped by the portability card, considering that network
interfaces now contain "giga" in the name instead of "mega" even on
cheap machines. :)
