I'm actually interested in the state information and have already added NE_LIF_UP/DOWN events plus net_getlifflags() to get the current state of a lif. In addition to these I've added NE_SET_ZONE for when a lif gets added to a zone and a corresponding net_getlifzone(). I know we've talked about this informally before but I also realise you're trying to get the initial cut putback so this work would be done after initial putback. My choice of event names mirrors the current net_getlif* terminology but of course can be easily changed.

Is it at all necessary to add an event pair for creation/deletion of
logical interfaces or is up/down enough here if they imply the former?

Do you care about what flags are set (or unset) on a logical interface,
or if it has a name, while it is down?

I'm just wondering if the events you've described give you enough of
what you want/need.

Darren
