Why doesn't sip_stack_init() return a descriptor or handle? Is the intention that only a single SIP stack can exist in a given process?

If so, that seems inconsistent with the design of other modern Solaris libraries, and I think it's an inappropriate limitation. For example, one can imagine a SIP server process that invokes 3rd party modules contained in shared objects. Such a server might be deployed as a protocol gateway, where modules need to initiate connections using their own SIP stack.
