Having seen nge issues before I'd guess that no packets are sent rather
than recieved. If you snoop the nic do you see anything ?
Power down the laptop completely, pull the battery etc. So all power
is gone from the box. Then boot Solaris first.
Make sure the bios's boot order has disk before network too.
Theres a bug (though fixed for one nge type in snv_53) where PXEboot or
windows leaves the nge nic in a state that Solaris doesn't like.
