Phil, Your suggestion greatly helped us to move in the right direction. We have completed the loopback module for our product in Solaris 10 and soon we are shipping the Loopback to our Clients.
As we progressed, we encountered a speedy bumper - the packets going in between TCP and sockmod does not contain any IP or TCP headers, we managed to get this TCP endpoint information from TPI messages going between the TCP provider and the user. All's well that ends well :) we really appreciate your valuable help and some very definite suggestions to get us this far. Thanking once again for everything we would safely assume that, we will continue with this knowledge sharing practice for mutual benefit. Previously I replied to this mail and said I couldn't think of any easy supported way to do this. However, in conversation with some colleagues we were discussing whether it might be possible to do this by pushing a module above TCP. I don't think this is necesarily an easy approach, there might well be issues depending on what you actually need and there would probably be a performance hit but it might be worth investigating.
