We are reviewing the design of PEF APIs, you will be able to alter the
default event list with these APIs, e.g. an event to inspect the data of
TCP packets, or an event to do trace the status of the connection.

In the first phase of PEF, which will show up really soon, you can only
do it for full bound TCP connections.

Performance would be a good reason to use PEF both for throughput and
latency. We have yielded good performance numbers in our development gate.

And with PEF APIs you can do much more jobs, we envision someday a
developer could provide his own TCP implementation via PEF. :)

Yes we already have some documents and man pages, but again they are
still being reviewed internally. So please stay tuned.
