Sowmini, In the competitive analysis, I'd recommend that you look more closely at what BSD offers via "ifconfig" as this is typically the interface used when setting some parameters, such as the media type (10BT, 100BT-FDX, etc.) sysctl is not as often used for network device driver settings. Obviously the persistance method used is also specific to ifconfig, not sysctl.
