Hi,

I've got (according to the motherboard's documentation) an RTL8201CL device. I
would like to get it to work under the most recent Solaris Express Developer
edition. The device appears not to be recognized. Belenix, in contrast, appears
to recognize it: "ifconfig -a" displays an "nfo0" device in addition to two lo0
entries. The "nfo0" device even has a "normally looking" MAC address. The host
cannot see the network even with Belenix, but this may be some higher level
networking (routing?) problem. (Belenix was nicely networking on my Compaq
nx6325 though, right out-of-the box, so I am not sure...)

I also found this on the Net (though it is about a different motherboard), but
I am not sure what to make of it:

To get solaris working on the k8nf6g you may need to edit /etc/driver_aliases
to add the line:

    nge "pci10de:3ef"

in order to get the ethernet chip (Realtek RTL8201CL) recognised as such. On
the k8nf4g it was PCI ID 10de:0269 which is already supported in Solaris.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Peter
