Ah, I understand.  I'll see what possible solutions I can come up with that
may work. (If I even understood the underlying problem 100%, that would
help a lot in determining feasible solutions prior to trial and error :))

I asked here because people here would have the most experience with 
IP instances.  As to why not using an OpenSolaris build, the answer is 
simple -- support.  While I don't have a Platinum support contract on my
equipment, I treat my production network (even if it is just 
the production side of my home network) the same way I would treat an
employer's production network.  Dev on the other hand, sure I would
(and do) run SXCE builds there all the time.
