Project Volo has been setup on OpenSolaris
(http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/volo). The project team is
looking to reduce packet latency, and provide a pluggable socket
framework and a kernel socket API. Code that the project team has been
experimenting with is available on the Opensolaris web site. This code
implements non streams based IPv4 tcp sockets.

Please join [EMAIL PROTECTED] to participate in design
discussions and to steer the project in the right direction. We welcome
your suggestions, especially ideas on how to reduce latency. We would
especially appreciate endorsement by the network community leaders.

BTW, Volo also happens to be the first Networking project with a non-Sun
I-team member as Dolphin ICS takes part by porting their "SuperSockets"
from Linux to Solaris.
