This is more an enduser thing so please don't comment from a buisness standpoint.
Got my Starter Kit last week so i'll have my first steps in Solaris next weekend or so. I'm aming to replace my Linux homerouter (ClarkConnect - Routing [3 WinXP PCs], Firewall, FTP, HTTP, Samba) with Solaris. I couldn't find much bout routing so here are my questions : - Is there an easy way to set up & configure Routing/Port Forwarding/Blocking ( PPPoE DSL ) or do i have to configure everything in text files ? - Same as above for Firewall (which is IP Filter from what i've read) - I would setup a FTP and HTTP Server So overall - is there a reason (for a home user) not to have all that on one Box ? My ClarkConnect setup has been doing that for years without problems.
