Hello experts,

I would like to propose a new project RDMA offload
Framework and would like to request endorsement of the
project by the networking, device drivers and HPC
communities. Comments are welcome

Thanks & regards,
Sudhakar

Project Proposal:
-----------------

Project Synopsis:
     RDMA Off-Load Framework (ROF)

Project Description:

The RDMA Offload Framework (ROF) will provide Solaris
support for offloaded iWARP (set of protocols/programming
models which put RDMA on IP/Ethernet) implementations. It
will provide the foundation for all Solaris usage of iWarp.

RDMA is a zero copy performance technology with asynchronous
processing model. RDMA is supported on different interconnects
like InfiniBand, iWarp, Virtual Interface Architecture, etc.

This project will provide two sets of interfaces
     1) for ULP's (Upper Level Protocols) such as SDP (Socket Direct
protocol), RDS (Reliable Datagram Sockets), iSER (ISCSI
Extensions for RDMA), uDAPL (user Direct Access Programming
language, used by MPI (Message Passing Interface)) etc.

     2) for RNIC's hardware adapters (RDMA enabled Network
Interface Cards) and for Software RNIC
