Done. It's CR 6718469. > But I don't know if > there is any app out there doing setsockopt(..., SOL_SOCKET, > TCP_KEEPALIVE, ...). If anything is, then it's just plain broken software. The SOL_SOCKET level of parameters are supposed to start with "SO_*". The "TCP_*" set of parameters belong with IPPROTO_TCP. (Nobody really knows what the Linicians were thinking with SOL_TCP; that's just horrible ...) The good news is that compiled applications would be unaffected by such a change, so it's binary compatible. It would just force those who are recompiling source code to fix their applications, and, since we're the only ones with this mistake, thus be a positive contribution to portability. -- James Carlson, Solaris Networking <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sun Microsystems / 35 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677 _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
