Crisson, Sorry about length of time it took me to reply. This appeared to help some. In that the adapter stopped being invisible to the driver, and started reporting itself as "misconfigured". scanpci -v : ... pci bus 0x0009 cardnum 0x00 function 0x00: vendor 0x14e4 device 0x1673 Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5755M Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express CardVendor 0x1028 card 0x01f9 (Dell, Card unknown) STATUS 0x0010 COMMAND 0x0002 CLASS 0x02 0x00 0x00 REVISION 0x02 BIST 0x00 HEADER 0x00 LATENCY 0x00 CACHE 0x10 BASE0 0x00000000fe7f0004 addr 0x00000000fe7f0000 MEM 64BIT MAX_LAT 0x00 MIN_GNT 0x00 INT_PIN 0x01 INT_LINE 0x0a ... /var/adm/messages had the following in it, twice: Jul 31 11:09:47 vmH118MG1 bge: [ID 801725 kern.warning] WARNING: bge0: Device 'pci14e4,1673' not recognized (5747?) So I figured that it might make sense to use the (working) wifi card at a local coffee shop and see if there were updates to the bge driver. There were. The dependencies hund the box during application a few times, and I'm pretty close to my tinkering threshold. Any further help would be appreciated.
