This might not be the best mailing list for the question ... I think
the driver folks hang out on [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Have you tried contacting the developers involved first to get a
timeline for possible fixes?  Are you sure you've applied the known
work-arounds for the problems?

If you have already done all that, and if the people who should be
supporting this software aren't addressing newly-introduced bugs in a
timely way, and if there are no decent work-arounds, then I think the
right answer may be to ask the gatekeepers to back the offending
changes out.  This can be done at any time, as long as it's for the
good of the release.
