Hi - I am trying to get "born" into OpenSolaris or Solaris, but cannot get past my networking issues.. Intel (R) 82562 Ethernet Device - appears to not be recognised? I tried the "ife" install from that site, but it did not work (the modload part). I went back to Solaris 10, had hope but that got dashed too. My audio is not working, but I don't really care that much.
I blew away my OpenSUSE to get started on Solaris - I have never spent this much time on an install, but I am hanging on because I think that it will be worth it (really don't want to go back to SUSE with my tail between my legs). Another thing - I could not install at all - SATA disk until I toggled the IDE "mode" in the BIOS. I assumed that it was the right thing, but is there any downside? Or any way to get Solaris to use the native SATA? Here is my prtdiag. System Configuration: Gateway GT5428 BIOS Configuration: Intel Corp. Thanks, Derryck. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
