None of that seems to address what I suggested. In any event, the description of the problem you've given is substantially consistent with bugs in the "wpi" driver. I suggest contacting the driver team and getting an updated driver from them. There've been several problems in this area. That's just a guess. I don't think I suggested updating any packages, but I agree that this is likely going to be necessary to fix the problem in the future. If the problem is a bad driver, you may need to find another interface in order to download a fix for it. But do get in touch with the driver folks, as it's possible that they have some workaround for the problem.
