I'm about to finish up our ARC review for bridging, and I'd like to air out one significant change versus the previous spec, because it's something that likely will affect other projects.
We've added a new "::dladm" dcmd to mdb. We plan to have just a single "show-bridge" subcommand to start, which will be used to print information appropriate in a kernel debugging context, but we expect that "show-link" and other such subcommands will be added in the future. This is intended to be similar to the existing "::netstat" command, and simplifies the exploration of system dumps (at least somewhat) for those unfamiliar with the details of the implementation. If you have any questions or concerns about this overall direction (mirroring some user-level commands into mdb dcmd analogs, with different but "familiar" and "useful" output), please do speak up. -- James Carlson, Solaris Networking <[email protected]> Sun Microsystems / 35 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677 _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
