It's the mailing list for the Networking Community: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/networking/ Generally, the networking community focuses on the TCP/IP stack itself, some fundamental user-space utilities and libraries (e.g., "netstat" and "libsocket"), and some datalink layer framework components (such as "dladm"). NFS and CIFS are file systems ... yes, they _use_ networking, but then so do web servers and a host of other things that are not part of the networking community. (In the same way that networking projects tend to rely on memory allocation and other things provided as core kernel and OS services.) If you're having trouble with 'ifconfig' or 'telnet', this is probably the right place to turn. -- James Carlson, Solaris Networking <[email protected]> Sun Microsystems / 35 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677 _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
