I would be very surprised if XRESOLV actually works; last time it was used was when we did IPv6 over ATM a decade ago, and there has been many changes in that area. Also, our XRESOLV never supported IPv4.

Part of the history is that other ATM vendors manged to get things to work without any changes in the IP stack; only the Sun ATM software required XRESOLV.

If in the future there is a need for XRESOLVE (for IPv*) I think we should work out the details not only of how to build it, but also how we can avoid it falling into disrepair.
