I don't see a strong requirement for hostnames for dladm.
If we don't have it we'd probably need some support in the conversion
of /etc/hostname* files so that at the time of conversion we do a
getaddrinfo to get the addresses from /etc/hosts,ipnodes.
Thus the RFE might not even be needed.
Which project is going to convert all of the TPI network
configuration files under /etc to also use IP addresses and
not hostnames?
Or are there no dangers from having the hostname in one
of those files not resolve to the same address as is on the
network interface(s)?
