Some time ago the following announcement was made regarding Solaris10: "Recent updates have added policy-based routing, which provides a means to set routing policy for individual connections" (http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/ds/network_performance.jsp).
However, there seem to be no end to the confusion over what this actually means. At first I thought this was referencing Quagga, but it appears not so. A similar claim was made regarding Nevada circa snv_30 in CR 6264845, but that putback only included hooks for NEXTHOP... that revelation led me to a dead end. I assume that hook was put in place for something else (IPF, Quagga, etc) to fill the PBR void. So the only reference I see to PBR in Solaris is to do so with IP Filter, but its either not documented or burried. Therefore, I have the following questions to get answered: 1) The Solaris 10 announcement for support of Policy Based Routing refers to _what_ technology? 2) Is IPFilter the only way to accomplish PBR? 3) Where can I find documentation/examples/details about IPF PBR?
