If such a thing existed, it would be on the ifconfig(1M) man page. I don't see any documentation of exit codes, so the best you can rely on would be the general information in Intro(1) -- which means zero for success, non-zero for error. I don't know how other OSes do things, but on [Open]Solaris, man pages are authoritative: if something appears there, then it's documented, and (absent clear documentation stating otherwise) you can rely on it. If it's not in the man page, then it's not documented, and you can't rely on it. Of course, it's an open source OS, so all of that is changeable if you need to have it changed.
