This sounds like a networking problem, not a community governance issue,
so I'm replying on networking-discuss. Please follow-up there.

Where are you seeing that message? What exactly are you doing to start
DHCP (which ordinarily starts automatically)? What command (or
commands) did you issue?

What version of Solaris are you running? Is it OpenSolaris or one of
the commercial or other versions? What kind of system is this
(hardware)? What network interfaces does it have?

Have you read through the documentation? The ifconfig(1M) man page in
particular has some useful information about DHCP. dhcpagent(1M) has
some more detailed information. The administrator's guide on
docs.sun.com has some very detailed task-oriented information and is
well worth the time.

What exactly are you trying to do? Do you want to run a DHCP client or
a server?

The more details you can provide about the exact problem you're seeing,
the more likely it'll be that someone here can get an answer for you.
The error message above is (I'm afraid) a little too generic to tell
what might be wrong. (I'd guess that you may have accidentally enabled
the DHCP server, when you really need the client, but that's just a wild
guess.)
