DNS caching on opensolaris is done by the name-service-caching-daemon
(nscd). You can invalidate/clear any of the many caching services it
provides via: nscd -i <cachename>, so in your case the command is "nscd
- -i hosts". Be sure to "man nscd" to see what other caches you can clear
this way.
