Version: OpenSolaris 2009.06 snv_111b Platform: Two T5240's NIC Card: quad 1GB NXGE
We are setting up a testbed with the above configuration setup back to back, eventually we will place these machines on opposite ends of a network. But for now we are trying to get them configured. The machines respective Nxge gig ethernet ports are connected directly to each other.
We are using netperf to generate traffic and are seeing a very large number of tcpRetransBytes (as reported by netstat -s -P tcp) on the receiving side. This number increases as we initiate more traffic.
We figured the solution would be easy to fix by turning on Flow Control... But when we try to do this we get.
dladm set-linkprop -p flowctrl=bi nxge8dladm: warning: cannot set link property 'flowctrl' on 'nxge8': invalid argument
Searching around on the OpenSolaris website we came across this Bug http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6704287
it is exactly what we are seeing....Is there another way to set flowctrl in the nxge driver ? We looked and nxge.conf and did not see anything in there.
Thanks , Rick
