Hi all, I've got a headless server running 2009.06 and sometimes it disappears from the network...
If I am transferring a lot of data over NFS (either to or from the server) or over SSH, or try to do too much (several SCP copies while doing some NFS stuff) the machine appears to crash (as far as I can tell over the network). Two separate machines both report this when I try to ping the server: Request timeout for icmp_seq 0 About five minutes later, the server will reappear. Of late I have just been watching a film on my Mac, the file is located on the opensolaris server and accessed via NFS. The server has dropped it's connection and the film stops playing. Nothing else is happening. If I leave the Mac as it is, then when the connection is back up, the film carries on playing. Looking in /var/adm/messages, I can't see anything dodgy, and the machine doesn't restart... Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be happening?
