No - explain the customer that it lies in the nature of tcp that it might not utilize the maximum available bandwidth. People start a http download, only get a fraction of the bandwidth they expect and blame the isp that the usable bandwidth is much less than the one, they are paying for. I'd like to proove that the link CAN handle (close to) 6MBit, so it's not the fault of the dsl-line but maybe a thousand other factors (e.g. tcp narrowing the window since the ACKs take ages to arrive). I made the experience that they don't believe you unless they actually see that it's possible.
