I too am having a rough time getting NM to work, but I just discovered that FC5 doesn't by default enable wpa_supplicant, which AIUI, has to do with key negotiations. It might be enlightening to do a "chkconfig --list wpa_supplicant". >If there is anything further I can do to help please let me know. > >Regards, > >Robert. > >>---- Original Message ---- >>From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >>To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >>Subject: Re: Cannot get wireless connection on Fedora 5 >>Date: Mon, 17 Apr 2006 16:53:08 -0400 >> >>>On Sat, 2006-04-08 at 20:30 +0100, John Lagrue wrote: >>>> I have been using NM on Fedora since it first came out, but since >> >>I >> >>>> upgraded to Fedora Core 5 I cannor use it to connect to my >> >>wireless >> >>>> network. >>>> >>>> When I log in it asks for the WEP key (whereas it always knew it >> >>in >> >>>> the past!), and when I select WEP 40/Hex and type in my hex key - >> >>it >> >>>> refuses to connect. >>>> >>>> If I stop NM and issue these iw config commands , then it always >>>> works. >>>> >>>> /sbin/iwconfig wlan0 essid <my essid> >>>> /sbin/ifup wlan0 >>>> >>>> Any suggestions? >>> >>>Can you post the contents of your /var/log/messages where >> >>NetworkManager >> >>>logs it's actions?
