Ubuntu and Debian modified Network Manager so it would not manage any
interfaces listed in /etc/network/interfaces. So to allow NM to
manage your wireless interface comment it out in
/etc/network/interfaces and restart.

Hello,
I use the latest Ubuntu with Network Manager 0.6.2 on my laptop which
has one Ethernet and one wireless network interface. Both network
interfaces are active in the network configurations but NM does show the
Ethernet interface only. How can I force NM to handle the wireless
interface as well?

Thanks alot, Lutzer
